Tarox Alfa Romeo 4C brakes
Tarox brakes have a long history with Alfa Romeo’s and racing, dating back to the mid 80’s with the pictured Group A Tarmac prepared rally GTV6. Throughout the 80’s Tarox cut its teeth developing braking for all the top Formula 1 teams and garnered a championship win in 1982 with Keke Rosberg’s Saudia-sponsored Williams FW08. Tarox’s innovative brake cooling development is what led to their widespread motorsport adoption.
Founded in 1976, by Gianni Taroni, the company has always been run from the top down with dedicated race and car professionals working in every facet of the company. The Italian factory is located in the small town of Osnago, north of Milan and only 10 miles from the Autodroma Di Monza. All rotors are final finished by hand to exacting standards. Like so many Italian staples; wine, cars, bikes, shoes... you get the idea, there is a great deal of pride taken in each set of brakes made at the factory. During the 90’s Tarox pioneered “big brake” kits before they were in vogue and are a continued leader in the category. It is still a small company that even today holds true to its motorsport roots. Not surprisingly, the resulting quality and innovation found in their entire brake line is outstanding.
At Alfa9 Supply we’ve been testing the Tarox 2-piece bespoke rotors on our Alfa Romeo 4C and have been hugely impressed with the stopping quality of them. We paired them up with the “Corsa” brake pads. These pads are a unique pad in the market and offer racebrake stopping ability while remaining streetable with low noise and low dust. Being a full-line Tarox dealer, Alfa9 can consult you and source a brake kit, rotors or pads for almost any car on the market. This includes the full array of classic Alfa Romeo’s.
And just this month, with a 4 corner solution Tarox has completed the 2-piece rotor for the rear axle of the Alfa 4C. The most unsprung weight is saved here over the OEM heavy cast disc. Order them with the unique and track proven self cleaning grooves of the “F2000” swirl design, or the drilled / slotted pattern which Tarox calls the “Sport Japan.”
To summarize—this brake set for the 4C offers reduced unsprung weight, unique pad cleaning grooves, superior metallurgy, increased cooling and replaceable rotors for your Alfa Romeo 4C.
All the above features make Tarox a brand we are truly excited to carry and represent at Alfa9 Supply.
